Researchers Notes

In 2001 I found out that my great grandparents were actually buried in a very small grave site, near a major highway outside of Statesboro in Bulloch County, Georgia. A cousin took me to their graves so I could see them myself. Because the county was going to be widening the highway, the descendants of John Matthew and Wilmouth W Nesmith had to decide what to do about their remains. One of the churches in the area (where a good many of other Nesmith graves were ) said they would donate a plot if we could get enough money to have their remains relocated. The pictures attached are where their original graves were.
