Samuel was born in Hartford on 20 Oct 1646. He was the son of Rev. Roger & Mary (Hooker) Newton, and grandson of Rev. Thomas Hooker, called by some the Founder of Connecticut and of American Democracy
Samuel was very active in Milford affairs, representing the town 15 times in the General Court of Connecticut. He had the rank of Captain in the militia as a famous fighter in all the Indian wars. [1]
Samuel died in 1708 in Milford, at age 61-62
Samuel married, first, Martha Fenn on March 14, 1668/69 in Milford, New Haven Colony.
