I am Mary Elizabeth Ney Bearden. I was born in Biloxi, MS. I am daughter of Robert Glenn Ney (deceased), born Utah and Marjorie Jean Kornstett (living), born Kansas. My mothers parents Clarence Monroe Kornstett and Bessie Poore. I am married to Mark Lavon Bearden, born Farmerville, LA, son of Vonnie Jack Bearden (living), born Louisiana, and Glenda Hester Bearden (living), born Colorado. As a Christmas gift, we are each taking a DNA test thru 23 and me. My minor daughter is doing one thru Ancestry. I will be uploading what family history I have here, which is on my parents and was done, in large part by others with references to census records and newspaper stories. I need someone to teach me how to navigate this site. I am willing to volunteer where needed and will enjoy learning as I go.

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?
I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try! For profiles for living people, just go to this link. RootsSearch

Welcome to the WikiTree family!
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person. The Honor Code allows us to work together on one BIG tree.
By now, you should have received an email with links to get you started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have the option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree. Volunteers begin by adding tags for their own profiles; tags allow them to keep up with new information on surnames, locations, concepts, etc.
If you would like to volunteer, a greeter can confirm your membership, and then you'll be on your way!
Carole
P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
