Mary Chastain was enumerated at Post Office Lafayette, The Town District, Walker County, Georgia for the June 8, United States Census, 1860. She was noted as born 1791 in South Carolina as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Raney Chastain, female Emily Sitton, female Emanda C Sitton, male Wiley C Sitton, female Malisa A Sitton and female Elizabeth L Sitton.^[1]

Mary Nicholson Chastain is buried at LaFayette Cemetery in LaFayette, Walker County, Georgia.^[2]
