Biography

Johannes was baptized on 15 August 1703 in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, New York. He is the son of Jan Hendricksen and Machteltje Roelofs.

He married Jannetje Relje by 1723.

A Johannes Osterum was one of the "Inhabitants, Residents, and Freeholders" of the South Ward of Dutchess County (which later became Putnam County) who were assessed tax on 16 January 1723/4.^[1]
