I support merging this profile with Ormand-50. They are clearly the same person. We need to merge the fathers as well. I ask that we remove Ireland as the birthplace. Hundreds of descendants in Western NC have been researching the Ormands for decades (they have had a family reunion in Kings Mountain every summer since 1899) and nobody has found any solid proof of the birthplace of the immigrant ancestors. James Sr and James Jr were Presbyterians and we assume part of the great Scotch Irish migration of the 1730s but we don't know whether they came from Scotland, Northern Ireland, or some other part of the British Isles. Some say they came from Wales (Ormand from Ore men, or miners). I would love to have a source for any information about the origins of the immigrant ancestors.
