Thomas Patch, born and died Wenham is not the same man as Thomas Patch, a contemporary, born and died Beverly. The Beverly man is almost certainly the son of Thomas Patch and Mary Lovett,

Thomas Patch, born and died Wenham was the son of Thomas Patch and Mary Scott Patch.

Research Notes

Two contemporary men, Thomas. There are two Thomas Patches in the record books and there are three profiles (Patch-38, Patch-40, Patch-303) set up. It is highly unlikely that they were brothers since both lived to old age, rather than dying in childhood.

  • Thomas Patch: 19 Jul 1674 (Wenham) - 7 Oct 1754 (Wenham)

The single Thomas Patch born in Wenham in the 1660s-1670s was born on 19 Jul 1674.[1] The Thomas Patch who died in Wenham on 7 Oct 1754 was 80 years old at the time of his death,[2] which would mean he was born in 1674.

  • Thomas Patch: b. 1664; bp. 19 Jul 1668 (Beverly) - 16 Mar 1747 (Beverly)

The single Thomas Patch in the Beverly birth records was baptized on 19 Jul 1668.[3]

Thomas of Wenham probate. See Thomas Patch 1754, Wenham, probate, case 20743, 4 pp., including will, Essex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1638-1881; database and digital images by subscription, AmericanAncestors. By a first reading of the will, he appears to have left his estate to his "Cozon Timothy Patch jnor of Wenham."

Thomas Patch and Mary of Beverly are a different couple than Thomas Patch and Mary of Ipswich/Wenham.

See research notes regarding three Patch profiles (Patch-38, Patch-40 and Patch-303). Only 303 was to be merged away, but all three seem to have been merged into Patch 38.

So, this profile now conflates the record of the person baptized at Beverly, with the person who died at Wenham, but the date of death seems confused.

Edited to add: Would seem this profile was originally created as the son of Thomas and Mary (Scott) Patch. Have created a new profile for Thomas, son of Thomas and Mary (Lovett) Patch.
