I am looking for any information on Barbara Pfeiffer or her ancestry, including documentary evidence on Martin Pfeiffer and Hans Johannes Pfeiffer families.
I am the Family Historian for the House Of Crider. We believe immigrant ancestor Hans Jacob (Joggi) Grieder married Barbara Pfeiffer in Canton Basel-Landstadt, Switzerland circa 1740. We think she is the daughter of Hans Johannes Pfieffer and Agnes Moschinger born about 1713 in Haffelfingen, Switzerland. That makes her the sister of Martin and Elizabeth Pfieffer/Phifer. Our ancestor and their older children died by 1754 after they migrated to Cabarrus county circa 1749 subsequent to an invitation from Martin. Barbara remarried to a Hans Greber, and their son Jacob Grieder may have been living with his uncle Martin Pfieffer. In 1798 a court record mentions "...Col Martin Phifer's plantation where Jacob Crider now lives..." (which would have been a reference to Jacob's cousin, Martin Phifer, Jr.)
Any assistance is welcomed.
