William Charles Phillips was born in 1841 in Roch, Pembrokeshire, Wales to Robert Phillips and Mary (Charles) Phillips. His birth was registered in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Charles.^[1]

In 1891 William C Phillips (age 49, Lodging House Keeper) lived at Cleveden Place in St George Hanover Square, London with his wife Eliza (44), son Gilbert C (3), and three servants: Ellen Daker (17, Parlourmaid), Elizth P Jones (18, Housemaid), and Florence E Jones (15, Nurse).^[5]

In 1901 William C Phillips (age 59, Living on Own Means) lived at Kyrle Road in Battersea, London with his wife Eliza (54) and son Gilbert C (13).^[6]

In 1911 William Charles Phillips (age 69, Retired Hous Steward) lived in Battersea with his wife Elisgia [Eliza] (64) and son Gilbert Charles (23, Bank Clerk).^[7]

William C Phillips passed away on 2 Dec 1915, aged 74 years. His death was registered in Wandsworth, London in the last quarter of the year.^[8]
