My tree is kind of a mess after about 3 generations and is on ancestry if anyone wants to view it. Just like everyone else, getting past 1850 is difficult but sites such as wikitree are an enormous help. I think most people are in similar situations like me. Not having the time to do much physical searching, most everything I do is online. Right now I'm attempting to clean up and standardize the parts of my tree that I know to be accurate. Cleaning up small errors and dates and such. It took me a while to realize that my Pierce line is from North Carolina and Virginia and not the northeast although I'm sure there is some connection, maybe back in Europe if not here. Crabtree on my wife's side are a whole other story. From Virginia mostly, but really hard to chase down.
