Biography

Robert Pozzi was born about 1826. He was apprenticed as a goldsmith to Robert Stewart along with James Sime in or before 1841. ^{[1] [2]} On 30 June 1848, Robert married Janet Watson In Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. ^[3] By 1851, Robert Pozzi was a jeweller in Glasgow. ^[4] He was listed in the Post-Office Annual Glasgow Directory (1855 to 1858) as living at 18 Little Hamilton Street, and partner in Watson & Pozzi, jewellers at 190 Trongate. ^[5] Other businesses at that address in 1856 were a print cut., photographist, belt ma., tailor, ivory tu. and writ. desk ma. ^[6] "In 1861 Joseph was in Preston, Lancs., along with his brother Robert, who subsequently died in the workhouse there in 1866. Robert's wife, Janet Watson, remained in Glasgow and I'm wondering if he abandoned her. " ^{[7] [8]}
