Barbara was born in November 1922 in St. Cleer, Liskeard, Cornwall [1]. She was the daughter of Arthur Edwin Rashleigh and Minnie Edith Gill. She was still living with her parents as an older teenager in 1939 employed as a Laundry Worker [2].
Barbara married Ernest Frederick Brown on the 5th January 1943 in St. Mark, Ford, Devonport, Devon. [3][4]. They had two children, Carol Brown (b. 1943) and Janice Brown (b. 1947).
Barbara died in 2012 in Seaford, Sussex. She was aged 89 years 7 months. [5]
