Biography

Newton is the son of Noah & Phoebe Gertrude (Dodson) Redford. He married Plemley Adaline Redford on August 15, 1862.

Newton J. Redford, who was the son of Noah Redford and Phoebe Gertrude Dodson, was born Sep 5, 1843 in Missouri.[1][2] He was probably born in the part of Cole County that later became Moniteau County, Missouri. In 1846 the family moved to Johnson County, Missouri where he grew to adulthood.[3]

Newton was married to his divorced cousin, Plemley Adaline Redford, on Aug 15, 1862.[4] They had one son, Eldridge G. Redford. For a few years the couple lived in Hazel Hill Township, Johnson County, Missouri. They were farmers. Later they moved to Henry County, Missouri, where a number of his cousins and other relatives lived.[5][6]

Newton died Jun 14, 1883, and is buried in Norris Cemetery in Big Creek Township, near Hartwell, Henry County, Missouri.[7]
