Phemley (or Plemley or perhaps Clemly) Adaline Redford, daughter of William Redford and Ruhanna Randolph, was born about 1840 in Cole County, in the part that later became Moniteau County, Missouri.[1] She went by the name Adaline. She grew up on her parents' farm in Cole/Moniteau County.
On Aug 2, 1857 she married Joseph H. Bennett.[2] He apparently deserted her, and on Mar. 30, 1861, she obtained a divorce from him. They apparently had no children. As part of the divorce she resumed her maiden name of Redford.[3] On Aug. 15, 1862, Adaline married her cousin Newton J. Redford.[4] They lived for a time in Hazel Hill Township, Johnson County, Missouri.[5] Then they moved before 1880 to Bogard Township, Henry County, Missouri,[6] where her husband died in 1883.[7] She then married a third time, to Andrew M. Carothers, Sep 20, 1885 in Henry County, Missouri.[8]
