Witnessed that William JAMES in consideration of the sum of 6,000 pounds of tobacco do bargain & sell unto William HODGKINSON, 100 acres of land with all the plantation, orchards & fences thereon, whereon John WILLIAMS formerly dwelled, now in the tenure & occupation of said William JAMES, situate in VA,Richmond-Co,North-Farnham-Parish part of 300 acres of land purchased by Joshua LAWSON of Andrew BOWYER, deceased& by said LAWSON conveyed to said William JAMES, that is to say, beginning at a marked Pichicory, the beginning corner tree of Joshua LAWSON, his land & from thence running such courses & distance into the land of said Joshua LAWSON, as with the said plantation will include the full quantity of 100 acres of land & the rights. In witness whereof the parties to these present have hereunto interchangeably set their hands & seals the day & year first above written.
1729/08/05 "Know all men by these presents that I, Ann MOUNTJOY of VA,Richmond-Co,North-Farnham-Parish do appoint my trusty & very good friend, Solomon REDMAN, to be my true & lawful attorney for me & in my name to acknowledge a Deed of Gift for a parcel of land by me made over to John JONES & Sarah, his wife, as also my personal estate situated in VA,Richmond-Co,North-Farnham-Parish. Witness my hand & seal 5 August 1729.
1729/08/05 "Know ye that I, Ann MOUNTJOY of VA,Richmond-Co,North-Farnham-Parish that whereas I, Ann MOUNTJOY, in consideration of the natural love, good will & affection which I have & do bear towards John JONES & his wife, my daughter, Sarah JONES, both of the parish & county aforesaid, have & by these presents do give all my land to me belonging, situate in VA,Richmond-Co,North-Farnham-Parish together with all my personal estate of what nature or kind soever. Signed & sealed 5 August 1729.
1733/06/04 "Bryan SISSONS & Solomon REDMAN & Richard LAWSON & Michael WINDER, or any 3 of them, some time between this & the next Court are appointed to appraise all & singular the estate of Leonard DOZIER, deceased, which shall be presented to their view & make report thereof to the said next Court, their true appraisement of the decedent's estate, as also to Elizabeth DOZIER, the administratrix, for her true discovery thereof.[4]
1733\4/02/16 Mark THORNTON b=1712-1713 @21 (eldest son of Mark THORNTON & Mary BRUCE) deeded to Solomon REDMAN, the 100 acres willed him by his grandfather, Luke THORNTON, Sr. which he was to possess after the deaths of his aunt, Ann MOUNTJOY & his cousin, Sarah JONES. The deed was witnessesed by Leonard DOZIER, Jr. (son of Leonard DOZIER, Sr. & Elizabeth).[5]

1789/04/20 Deposition given by Mrs. Sedwell NASH in a VA,Richmond-Co lawsuit in which she gave the following testimony about her first cousin Solomon REDMAN ... "That about 40 years ago Solomon REDMAN, the son of that Solomon REDMAN". Sedwell (WINDER) NASH was the daughter of Susannah (STUART) WINDER who was a sister to Mary (STEWART=STUART) REDMAN.
He passed away in 1749.

We whose names are hereunto subscribed being empanelled did obedient to an Order of Richmond County Court 7 March 1742 met upon the land in Controversy and proceeded to lay of the 100 acres of land claimed by the Plaintiff as by the Surveyors Report hereunto annexed may appear and then also at the desire of the Defendant we laid of the said 100 acres as by the Surveyors plat and report. We find a deed from William Loyd to Andrew Boyer bearing date 1 July 1688 by virtue of which said Boyer was then seized; We find a Deed from said Boyer to Joshua Lawson dated 2 November 1687 by virtue whereof said Lawson became seized; We find a Deed from said Lawson to William James bearing date 6 December 1710 by virtue said James became possessed and that afterwards the said James conveyed the same to the Lessor of the Plaintiff by Deed 17 June 1720 who entered and is thereof possessed. We also find Deeds of Lease and Release from William Lawson, son and heir of Joshua Lawson bearing date 5 and 6 October 1731 to the Defendant, all which are annexed. We also find the several depositions of David Jackson, Solomon Redman, Charles Bragg, Joseph Bragg, Thomas Suttle and Michall Wilder all hereunto annexed. And if upon the whole the Law be for the Plaintiff we find for the Plaintiff 6 pence damage; otherwise, we find for the Defendant. List the 12 member of the jury. Recorded 6 March 1743.

Then by order of the Jury we Surveyed a Deed of land formerly belonging to William James for 100 acres but the Survey includes more than 96 ½ acres beginning at a marked hickory corner to James and running along a line of marked trees from F the beginning W to a stake in Soloman Redmans pastor at G thence W to a stake in Braggs Corn field near where the old corner was said to stand at H thence along the line N to the beginning at F.
Then we surveyed by order of Mr. Kennan beginning at a small hickory on a Hill side near G ye land of the W course and run S to a hill side near where an old Schoolhouse stood near H. Surveyed 18 March 1742 by Thomas Barber SRC. Recorded amongst the records of Richmond County 6 March 1743.
