Biography

According to researcher Albert Robichaux, Jr., the first mention of Heinrich Rommel was on June 16, 1691, when he married Ursula Altorfer, the daughter of deceased Fridrich Altorfer and Anna Geisser. Mr. Robichaux provides a scan of the marriage document and a translation. He cites his work, most from the microfilms of the Family History Library.
Robichaux found these children for the couple:
  1. Leonhard Remmel, born about 10 weeks after June 16, 1691
  2. Anna Catherine Rumel, baptized on October 16, 1697, died age 5 on March 4, `703
  3. Johann Rommel, born about 1699, married at Grombach to Anna Maria Rau(in), daugher of Michael Rau of Hertsfeld in Alsace. May 7, 1720
  4. Georg Leonhard Romel, born on November 18, 1700, baptized the next day, Adelshofen
  5. Agnes Veronica Rommel, born September 3, 1702, baptized on the 5th.
  6. Anna Susanna Romel, born January 24, 1705 and baptized the next day. Died at age 13 weeks.
  7. Susanna Romel, a twin, born on April 13, 1706 and baptized the next day, Berwangen, Baden, Germany
  8. Anna Susanna Romel, a twin, born on April 13, 1706 and baptized the next day, Berwangen, Baden, Germany

Marriage 16 Jun 1691 in Kirchard. Henrich Rommel with Ursula (daughter of the late Friedrich Altörfer). Their son Leonhard was born later in Kirchardt.[1]
