Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

I am 72 years old and born in South Africa in 1943. Our family came to Britain when I was 2. My mother died 5 years ago and since then I have been trying too find out about the Morrell family which was my mother's maiden name and also the Neilson family which was her mother's maiden name. Another name I have found is the Moncur family who are my mother's paternal grandmother's maiden name. Her maternal grandmother's maiden name of Henley I Have have not researched yet. My name is George Ross. My main reason for researching the South African side of my family is that my mother married before she met my father but it was late in her life when we found out, but she would not talk about it so I have been going through the records to find her first marriage but with no luck so far.
