Samuel was born abt. 1640. He was the son of George Russell and Jane UNKNOWN. He passed away 28 Mar 1676 in Rehoboth, Bristol, Plymouth Colony.
He died in the early part of King Philip's Ware, in the assault of the Indians on Rehoboth, leaving two daughters: Mary and Elizabeth.
His nuncupative will was recorded on 1 June 1676 in Plymouth. On the seventh or eighth March 1675/76 "being that day before Captain Pierce went north against the Indians" Samuel went to the house of John Turner Jr. son of Humphrey Turner, decd, and his two sons, Japhett and Israel to go a little while with him, which they did, and they bore witness to his last will and testament giving his estate to his loving wife Mary.[1]
His widow Mary was granted administration and his inventory was taken on 1 May 1676. On 1 June 1676, the inventory was exhibited in Plymouth court, and Mary made oath on the truth of the inventory.[1]
