Biography

Ellenor was likely born about 1738. She appears to have been the granddaughter "Nelly" named in the will of her grandfather Gerrit Roelofse Schenck. She was married in 1756 to Hendrick Van Brunt, who she survived. Ellenor again married to David Forman, who she also outlived. Her will was made the 19th of November in 1799 as Eleanor Van Brunt, widow of Hendrick Van Brunt, but it was noted to be the will of Eleanor Foreman, also widow of David Foreman, when recorded in 1814.

Ellenor's last will is a blessing as she named her 7 siblings and a brother-in-law to include; Anny [Antje] Berry, Sarah Wyckoff, Mary Polhemius, Jane Denise, & Catherine Denise, and brothers; Gerrit Schenck & John Schenck. By her wording it appears sisters Anny Berry and Catherine Denise were deceased. She named her beloved brother, John Schenck, and beloved brother-in-law Auke Wyckoff as executors. Her last will was proved by the oaths of William Schank and Daniel T. Polhemius the 24th of February 1814 in Monmouth Court. (Monmouth Wills Vol A p 653, 654 & 655).
