Peter was the fourth child of the second family and the only one born in Fargo North Dakota, on September 7th 1888. When they first moved to Cedar Valley it was one of Mike's duties to watch him as the older children helped to build the farm and clear the land. Peter suffered from heart troubles and in the summer of 1904 at the age of 16, he died. He was in the hay loft during the haying season and suffered a heart attack, falling from the loft onto a hay -rake prong. He was taken to Duluth by handcar on the railway. but was pronounced dead on arrival at St Mary;s hospital. Albert remembered how they brought Peter home in the "wooden shoe" and how his mother was sad for a very long time. There is a story told that Cecilia was very fond of her big brother Peter, that she would follow him around constantly. When the rosary was held, Cecilia disappeared and was found asleep in the casket beside her beloved big brother Peter. Peter is buried in the Floodwood Village Cemetery next to his parents.
