The family plantation of John Sevier and his wife, Sarah Hawkins, was on Little Limestone Creek at the time of Nancy's birth, six miles BELOW Jonesborough in Washington County, Tennessee. She was said to have been born in the late Spring of 1780. Shortly thereafter, the family had to 'fort' due to an impending Cherokee uprising. A few days after the family arrived at Fort Nolichucky, her mother passed away early one morning, due to complications of this birth.
She was married to Walter King in 1795. They had 11 children.
Nancy passed away in 1825. She was reportedly buried at the Kingston Burial Ground, now known as Bethel Historical Cemetery, in Roane County, Tennessee. Her grave is not marked.[1]
