Research Notes

Elizabeth (Sevier) McClelland is named in the pension application filed on behalf of Catherine's surviving children. Testimony given in support of the application notes that she was living in 1855.[13] A death notice from the 23 August 1860 Fayetteville Observer, Tennessee, states that she was the youngest daughter of Governor Sevier, born "in Knox county on the 26th of November 1790" and "died in Marshall, Texas, on the 26th of June last."[14]

An SAR application gives her death date as 12-21-1831, in Van Buren, Arkansas.[15]
