He was noted as born 1861 in South Carolina and had been married twenty-seven years. He was a carpenter (houses) and an owner as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Lida M Sexton, daughter Willie Sexton and boarder (mother) Matildin Sexton.[2]
Jefferson Davis Sexton, Sr. is buried at Laurens City Cemetery in Laurens, Laurens County, South Carolina.[4]
