DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jack by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jack:
Kay, I don't think so because the info. came from my Mother Doris, his G'daughter from her Mother, my G'mother, his daughter! She also used to tell me what a Drunk he was! My G'mother, when he lived w/them & came home, used to make him sleep in the walk-up attic! I actually don't think I would have cared for him! In the dirt floor of their 2 car garage I found a cock spur, from my Mother I guess he'd engage in cock fighting w/the gambling that goes w/it! Be well, Jack
Kay, That makes sense to me. All I know is that on John j. Sheehans marriage certificate to Helena FitzGerald in Aug. 1884, his father John, a Laborer, is listed as deceased, while Helena's father, also a John is listed as a Baker, so presumably still alive. I have John J. sheehan as born earlier, around 1854.
Kay, I don't know!? Thanks for keeping my honest! Maybe there were 2 John Sheehans, they had another after the 1st one died & used the name again? But all I know is that from any number of sources, from someone on Ireland Reaching Out, is that he died of Pneumonia in the Workhouse! His wife Mary Maher along w.her father & a couple of other sibs came to Malden , MA & worked as a PA. If he was dead it would make sense that she needed to take of herself & kids. She died in 1907! Be wel, Jack
Kay, Don't I know, how common all of the names are/were! That's why I'm always asking about Middle Names! It's my feeling/theory CONTENTION that they used Middle Names to address or identify the different generations! Jack
Kay, You've got mr! All I'm recounting is what my Mother, Doris Helena Cranney Hilton & my G'mother Mary Katherine Sheehan Cranney told me! Mary K. was John Joseph Sheehan & Helena FitzGerald's daughter! Jack
Jack, If all you have is family stories, it's best to treat that information as "hints" only. You should look for actual sources, and make sure that the stories actually make sense before creating profiles for the people on WikiTree.
Kay, For instance I learned a week or two ago, that John Joseph Sheehan & his wife Helena FitzGerald Sheehan had a son. John J. Sheehan born 1903, died 1904, he lived 1 yr. 3 or 5 mos. 21 dys. He died of Cholera Infantum! 1st I've heard of him! Thanks Patrick! Be well Cousin, Jack MacDonald-Hilton.
Kay, I've more than Family Stories, Wiki Tree & Ancestry both have MY general info. as well as just a General Search on Google they confirm my info. I have seen & have copies of both my G'mother, Mary Katherine Sheehan Cranney's Birth Cert. & john J. Shhehan & Helena FitzGerald 's Marriage Cert from Aug. 1884. Now I'm trying to tackle the FitzGerald line! My Maternal Gg'mother was Helena/Ellen FitzGerald (she didn't like the name Ellen, so she chose Helena for herself! Her Parents were John Thomas FitzGerald & Jane Anne Leonard, haven't tracked the Leonard surname at all! John Thomas' Parent's were John (don't know his Middle Name?) FitzGerald & Mary O'Sullivan. That's the extent of my FitzGerald knowledge so far! Be well, Jack
If he died at age 5, how can he be the father of John J. Sheehan, born in 1870?

Isn't it possible that you've connected him to the wrong parents?
