NOTE: John Sheldon "of Providence" married Joan Vincent. The John Sheldon who married Sarah is Sheldon-234.
This John Sheldon is known as "John of Providence" Sheldon is S#8 in the Sheldon Family Association numbering system.[1]
On 6 March and 26 March 1660, at a Providence town meetings, "John Sheldon hath this day declared his intention of Marriage with Joane Vincentt."[2][3][4]

"John Sheldon of Providence (and Records of His Descendants)" by Keith M Sheldon (Bay Village OH, 1984), details thirteen generations. It is generally accepted that John Sheldon was born in England. An entry dated November 8, 1654 is in the early records of the Town of Providence. [8]
