I’m searching for proof of my Great Grandfather Riley Abraham Shelton’s parents. He’s my brick wall and the reason I started searching my family tree. Hoping wikitree provides the answer.

Hello Anonymous Shelton, if you would kindly review Elizabeth Blevins 3488, it needs to be addressed.

Thanks, Ange

Hi Pam,

Thank you for reaching out, Can you help me with the DNA matching? I’m trying to find out what Shelton family I belong to, my nephew tested on 23andMe his Shelton Haplogroup is R-M 167. I tried comparing other Sheltons GEDMATCH but am finding the process very difficult. My dead end is Riley Abraham Shelton born 1867, believe me I’ve searched hundreds of hours. So I thought finding the Shelton family on here would be easier, can you help? Searching Shelton

Unfortunatley I am not real DNA Sauve' I would suggest posting in G2G and letting someone who understand DNA help you.

Ok thank you Pam,

Forgot about that, this site has many features I’m still learning. The lettering is very small! Take care

Hi!

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.

Take care,

Hi,

If you look at the very top of your profile there are search boxes. One has the name Shelton in it if you click search it will show you all the Shelton profiles on WikiTree. If you know his first name you can add that. If you need help researching then our G2G forum is a great place to ask. We have great members from all over the world willing to help in there.

Good luck! If you have any questions about how WikiTree works let me know. :-)

Hello Searching,

Thanks for signing the Honor Code! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years. In aid of that, I'd suggest posting your "brick wall" ancestor to the G2G Forum. They found records for a family member that I had been searching for for many years! You can find it under the "Help" drop down menu at the top right of your profile.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will try to find answers. This can sometimes take a little time, so please be patient. Just click on the ‘Reply’ link below my comment, click on my name and ask in the comment section of my profile page, or send me a private message.

 :)

Hi Searching and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

PS Did you know that Tags become clickable links to others researching those names, or places, that you are interested in. They also control what is included in the family activity emails from WikiTree.

Welcome!

This is just a note to say hi and to let you know that I'm available to answer questions about WikiTree.
