Margaret was born in 1826. She was the daughter of Jacob Shotwell and Dorcas Drake. She passed away in 1911. Being the eldest child, and her middle initial being D., I suspect that her middle name was Dorcas.

She was married on 13 December 1845 (Plainfield, New Jersey) to Enoch M. Runyon.
