Biography

John and his brother James purchased 200 acres on Lot 28, Concession 2, Chingucousy township, Peel County on June 20, 1832. John completed payments on December 16, 1844 but James' portion went to a man named Sachlan Huner. By 1861 John had married, had a family of at least ten and impvoed his lot by 100 acres. In the same census, he gae his age as 54 and his wife as 47. At his death his son Joh retained the farm provided he pay $1000 to his sister Margaret within 5 years.
