Biography

According to NEHGR vol 12 page 345 (probate of "widow Alice Smith" lists Isaac Cullimore, Alexander Adams, Edward Budd, Sarah Martin, Martha Beamsle without specifying who those people were; they all inspected the contents of Alice Smith's chest.[1]

Samuel & Abraham, "2 of her sonnes" acted "in behalf of the rest of her children" along with kinsman Joseph Bayly. Presumably she died intestate. Unfortunately her deceased husband is not named.

While this does not prove that she was the mother of this particular Daniel, there does not appear to be another unaccounted-for Abraham Smith of this age and location. The (attached) 1660 will of Daniel listing "my brother Abraham Smith", while it might refer to a religious brother relationship, is at least some indication that Daniel Smith may have been another son of Alice.

Photographed Primary Sources

Daniel Smith died after July 14, 1660 (the date of his will) and before 24 September 1660 (date of his inventory), in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts[2], leaving widow Elizabeth (Rogers) Smith.[3]

His will is dated 14 July 1660 and recorded on 10 October 1660 in Middlesex court. His inventory was taken on 24 September 1660 in Watertown.[4]

Smith-108585 and Smith-2914 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, exact same spouse on both profiles. I checked Elizabeth's profile and it doesn't say she married twice.

Thank you for reviewing, Teresa (WikiTree Arborist)

Smith-52466 and Smith-2914 appear to represent the same person because: As described in TAG vol 62 English Origins of Grace Ravens etc by Michael Wood and other sources, these 2 are the same person married to Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of Grace Ravens Sherman Rogers Porter. Mergers for son Daniel Smith (married to Mary Grant) and wife Elizabeth Rogers will also be submitted as those profiles are duplicated too.

Proposing a merge for Daniel Smith-52466 and Daniel Smith-2914 since they are both the same person married to Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of Grace Ravens Sherman Rogers Porter. Other merges to clean up remaining duplicates will be submitted too.

Smith-15261 and Smith-2914 appear to represent the same person because: they seem to have similar parental information. Please compare and merge Smith-15261 into Smith-2914 if you agree they are two profiles for the same person. The American Genealogist does not show he was a son of John Bland Smith. Thank you.
