William Nelson Smith was born on October 24, 1811 in Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of William Benjamin Smith (1782–1842) and Jane Bulmer (1785–1824).
His siblings were:
William (23) married Mary Ann Elizabeth Ripley (19) (born about 1815; daughter of William Ripley Sr and Hannah (Coates) Ripley) on October 6, 1835. Their known daughter was Christiana Smith (1834–1912).
William (42) married Sarah Woods (23) (born about 1830) on February 1, 1854.
William died about 1867 in Maccan, Cumberland, aged about 55. He was buried in Maccan United Baptist Church Cemetery, Maccan, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.[1]
