Hi Eugene, I'm Mary, a Mentor. Our goal is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. Please make sure to avoid Duplicates before adding a profile.
Adding DOB, DOD, locations, Sources/references attached to every person are very important and assists all of us! Please take the time to find these.
If you encounter ancestors already on WikiTree ( less than 200 years), contact the Profile Manager for trusted access.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck adding & growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree
My name is Eugene W. Smith. I'm the genealogist for a large family with roots in eastern North Carolina.
I was peeking through the window, so to speak, and saw that my grandmother, whom I knew very well, has been given a name she never had. Walking through the door and having a look around seemed like the best way to correct this and, perhaps, collect additional information on her parents.
Please check our list of Earliest Known Smith Ancestors to see if your EKA already has a profile on WikiTree. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:SmithConnection.com_DNA_Project
