Ann was born in 1858. Ann Spalding ... She passed away in 1943.
Annie was the daughter of William Thomas Spalding & Isabel Ann Livers. She married George McManus Talbott on 2 December 1885 & they had 12 children. Ann & her husband ran the Talbott Hotel (now the historic Talbott Tavern located on the Court Square in Bardstown KY) from 1886 until his death in 1912. It was here the entire family was born & raised. Out of 12 children including 2 sets of twins, only 3 reached maturity, & 1 of these, Thomas, died in early manhood. Charging 25¢ for a meal & 50¢ for a room, it was quite an accomplishment to successfully operate the business for 30 years, especially when it is considered that frequent death & continual sickness beset the family.[1]
