Quotes document which shows Elizabeth Stark, niece of Elizabeth Stark received the property of her father, John Stark, deceased, who was the brother of this Elizabeth Stark. Mentions her Uncle Josiah Haines, second husband of this Elizabeth Stark. Hence she is daughter of Aaron Stark, Sr.

Compiled by Clovis LaFleur. Biography of Elizabeth Stark The latest year of birth for Elizabeth Stark would have been about 1773 based on her marriage to Micah Lambert April 19, 1688.[Note 10] The Elizabeth "Start" in this marriage record is most likely Elizabeth Stark, and would have to have been the daughter of Aaron and Sarah Stark. This speculated year of birth would presume she was at least 15 years old when they married. Elizabeth and Micah had one daughter named Michel Lambert born July 18, 1689 who married Peter Williams. Michael Lambert was a carpenter by trade and contracted to build the Ministers house for the Preston Congregational Church in North New London County, January 13, 1689/90.[Note 10a] The couple lived in Preston during the construction. Lambert completed this project and then probably died sometime before March 3, 1693. Charles R. Stark relates Elizabeth married Josiah Haines on this date and the record can be found in the Groton, New London County, CT Vitals, Vol. 1 pg 102.[Note 11] Josiah Haines is reported to be the Uncle of Elizabeth's niece in 1705 which seems to prove he was married to this Elizabeth Stark, daughter of Aaron Stark, Sr.. [Note 9] Josiah and Elizabeth (Stark) Haines had children named, 1) Elizabeth born March 7, 1694 who married ???? Phillops, 2) Anne born November 3, 1696 who married Nathaniel Brown, 3) Josiah, Jr. born January 8, 1698/9, 4) Joshua born August 27, 1701, 5) Caleb born February 2, 1703, 6) Kaziah born June 7, 1705 who married ???? Streat, 7) Comfort born August 2, 1711, and 8) Deborah. [Note 11] According to CRS, the first four children were born in Preston and are recorded in those records pointing to the family living in this area for a period of time. We know by 1705 they are again living in Groton.9 The birth date of Deborah was not recorded. However, as will be shown, she is mentioned in the will of Elizabeth as, "my loved daughter Deborah Haines". [Note 12] Some time before November 23, 1721, Josiah Haines died, for Elizabeth and her son Josiah Haines, Jr. sold some property where they were recorded as executor and executrix of the estate of the late Josiah Haynes. Elizabeth married Nehemiah Smith September 7, 1724 when he was 79 years old. CRS relates, " The marriage to Justice Nehemiah Smith was an old-age marriage, he being in his seventy-ninth year. He endowed her (Elizabeth) by jointure agreement with one hundred pounds current bills of credit of New England, payable within one year of the date of the marriage. Justice Smith was prominent in the affairs of New London before Groton became a town, and upon organization of the latter he was chosen third townsman. He also served as town clerk, justice of the peace, and in other positions." [Note 11] Elizabeth Stark's will was prepared and signed September 22, 1739 and probated December 31, 1739 under the name Elizabeth Smith, Nehemiah having died August 8, 1727. Therefore, she probably died sometime between these dates. Her sons in the will are mentioned as Josiah Haines and Caleb Haines and from this will we find her daughters were Michel (Lambert) Williams, Caziah (Haines) Streat, Elizabeth (Haines) Phillop, Anne (Haines) Brown, and Deborah Haines. The name of this child comes from the will of Elizabeth, prepared in 1739 and giving much of her belongings to her. She had to be 21 to receive these belongings, hence her latest year of birth was 1718. From the will, it would appear she was single for she is referred to as "Deborah Haines."
