Owen, Jr., married Ann Louisa Stephens, of New Orleans, a daughter of Samuel James Stephens, an eminent Irish linquist and surgeon, an attache of the staff of Napoleon Bonaparte, and Ann Lawn, daughter of Buxton Lawn and Mary Dawson, or Dorson, of London, England. She was a school teacher, and came out in this region to Joe Kirkland's, who had married an elder sister, and settled on Kirklands Creek. She was a niece of Col. William B. Ligon's wife, Eliza Lawn.
