Biography
Elizabeth Stephenson (daughter of Zadock Stephenson and Esther unknown) was born about 1795 in Kentucky. She married Othneil H. Sweem who was born about 1794. They lived for several years in Franklin County, Indiana and moved to Hancock County, Indiana prior to 1828. It was there he built a grist mill and later added a saw mill. He was elected as an associate judge in Hancock County. They left Hancock County about 1835. They were part of a large group of Stephenson and Sweem families that moved from Indiana to Missouri by way of Springfield, Illinois in 1842. He died about 1860.
