Richard Stratton was the son of Samuel Stratton and Alice Beebe Stratton.[1]

Richard Stratton did not come to the American colonies with his father. He sailed later (1656) from Gravesend, Kent, England to join his father in Watertown, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. Richard was born in England in 1627. He married Susanna ___?___ and they had one son, Samuel Stratton, who was born on April 8, 1658 in Watertown. Richard died in Watertown, Massachusetts on July 25, 1658. His widow married Thomas Dakin of Concord, Massachusetts on June 11, 1660. She died in 1698. ,[4]
Richard Stratton (1627-58) lived only long enough to sire a single son (and we know nothing more of him), but from him the line continues: Samuel (1658-1726), Enoch (1700-55), Samuel (1728-1810), and Ruth (1771-1807), who married Asa Goodrich.[3]
As to Richard's son, Samuel Stratton (1658-1726), three months old at the time of his father's death, a little is said:[5]
