It is safe to assume that the wife of Reason Burnes Sr. is named Ann. Thomas and Ann Sumrall gave the middle name "Ann" to all their daughters. Some trees have her name as "Hester Ann" with no sources given.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ann by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ann:
"Daughter" is just a place holder - we can change it to "unknown" if you like. We have been searching for her name for a while. Thomas Sumrall and his wife Ann Thomas gave all of their daughters the middle name of Ann. Some Sumrall researches have Reason Burns Sr. wife as Hester Some Burns researchers have Ann but I've yet to see proof either way (even though we can assume her middle name was Ann if she is Thomas and Ann Sumrall's daughter). Still working on it!
