Biography
Adoniram was born in 1836 in New York. He was the son of Darius Swezey and Esther Brooks. [1]
His family settled in Guilford, Illinois in 1851. [2]
He taught Mathematics at the Elgin Academy.
He married Malinda Bruner in 1866 [3]
AJ’s sister, Sophronia, married Malinda’s brother, Malcolm.
He was a horticulturist and cultivated fruit trees on the family farm in Guilford. [4]
He was a vice-president of the Illinois State Horticultural Society. [5]
A.J. passed away in 1915.
