Biography

Sarah Tate was born in 1870. She is the daughter of John Tate and Mary Sinclair. She passed away in 1962 of breast cancer at age 92. She is named after her father's sister Sarah and her grandmother Ellen.

Longtime Resident of S.L. To Mark 90th Birthday[1] - A Keen mind and an exceptional ability with figures, enables Mrs. Sara E. Campbell Andersen, 153 C St., to handle all her own financial affairs at the age of 90.

Mrs. Andersen will observe her 90th birthday anniversary Saturday. Although no special plans have been made, she will be at home to her friends and relatives. She was born Feb., 13, 1870, in Sault Ste. Mich. She was married to Thomas A Campbell Dec 21, 1893 in Michigan. He died in 1935 [actual death year was 1936]. She was later married to James X. Andersen in 1936 in Salt Lake City. He died in 1950.

She enjoys watching television, does some reading and crochets. She has resided in Salt Lake City for the past 30 years.

She is the mother of four sons, two of whom are still living. They are Guy C. Campbell, Woods Cross and Erwin E. Campbell, Salt Lake City. She also has 4 living stepchildren, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 19 step grandchildren and 30 step great-grandchildren.

Mrs Sarah Tate Campbell Andersen, 92, 135 C St., died Tuesday 9:05 a.m. of natural causes. Born Feb.13, 1870 Sault Ste Marie, Mich., to John and Mary Sinclair Tate. Married to Thomas Alexander Campbell Dec 21, 1893. He died in 1935. Married to James X. Andersen, December 1936. He died January 1950. Survivors: sons, Erwin E. Campbell, Salt Lake City; Guy C Campbell, Woods Cross; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral, 2 p.m., Friday, 574 E. 1st South, where friends may call Thursday, 7-8 p.m., Friday on half hour prior to services. Burial Mount Olivet Cemetery.
