Biography
He was born in Sunderland in 1921. He married Christine Joyce Spreckley who was born in China on June 2nd 1915, daughter of the Rev. W. Spreckley of Stanstead, Suffolk. They had two sons (see below). He went to the Nautical Collage, Pangbourne and then into the merchant navy with Blue Star Line, later he was the youngest captain in the company’s history. He was taken ill at sea and died in Buenos Aires
