Jack R. Templeton connects this family to parents Robert Templeton and Agnes Wilson, of Campbellton, Argyl Scotland, though does not give a record for proof of this connection. Jay Norwalk, in his John Templeton of Iredell Co., NC Vol. II & Robert Templeton of Pittsylvania Co., VA & Descendants, Continuation of 1997 Book: John Templeton 1755-1822 of Iredell Co. ^[2] states that as of 2013 "his parents and his wife's family remain unknown".
