Shirley, a note, I could see you are still adding ancestors. Therefore when you have more, you may find you need a different project, depending on where that ancestor trail leads you.

Then you can use the link below to find a different project.

Thanks

Shirley,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz! Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

The Virginia Project seems to fit your Alley ancestors. Click the link to read how to join.

Please refer to the new recommended sources for Pre-1700’s.Cite Reliable sources

Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find a project..

For questions, just ask!

Good morning Cindy. I have a general question. I have a great-niece (1739) who is approx 15 years old and recently asked that I give access to my trusted list, which I did not do for obvious reasons. She has since added various family members to wikitree which I would imagine creates duplicates?? For an example, my dad who is 190. Just curious if Wiki admin will flag this or what should take place at this point. I am 73 yo and would like my family's information to be correct, verified, and not duplicated. Thank you for your time.
I sent you an email not long ago. Could there be an email from Wikitree that may have been accidentally missed for you to confirm your email? Or possibly in a spam folder?

Shirley, Hi cousin, nice to welcome another Scott Co, VA Templeton to WikiTree. A bit of trivia - We Scott Co. Templetons are descended from one of the Scot Highlands indigenous tribes referred to by the Romans as "Picts". Our ancestors migrated from the Highlands to Argyllshire, Scotland before "crossing the pond" to Tidewater VA in the mid 1700s. They migrated to SW VA (via Pittsylvania Co, VA & Iredell Co, NC) in the late 1700s. The above info was recently published in a Genetic Genealogy entitled "Genealogy of John & Robert Templeton of Pittsylvania Co, VA" by Jay Norwalk

Hi Shirley,

A warm welcome to WikiTree. You are now a full member and can add your family to the big tree!

Click here to start with our New Member How-To Pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help!
