Germain Theriot, the eldest child of Claude Theriot and Marie Gautrot, was born about 1662, very likely in Port-Royal since the family was listed in the 1671 census at that location.[1][2]
He was also counted in the family home at age 16 in 1678.[3]
Germain Theriot and Anne Richard, daughter of Michel Richard and Madeleine Blanchard, were married before the 1686 census, in Port Royal, Acadie.[2]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Germain TERRIOT [sic], aged 23, was living with his young wife, Anne RICHARD, aged 15. They had no children yet as they were just married. They owned 1 gun and were living on 6 arpents of cultivable land with 6 cattle and 8 sheep.[5]
By 1693, the family had settled at Les Mines, where they lived for many years and raised their children, as shown in the censuses of 1693,[6]1701,[7]1703,[8]1707,[9]and 1714.[10]
A letter dated 25 August 1714 granted permission to Germain and his family to settle at Isle Royale.[2]
He died sometime after 17 October 1730, the date he witnessed the marriage of his granddaughter Marguerite Theriot.[11]

Regarding Marie Morin, SAW has identified her entry as a mistake in the 1707 census and should have been Anne Pellerin Pellerin-46, who married Germain Thériot-145. See DGFA p.1493 in the "Documents officiels" section, for the 1707 census for this family.
I could find no marie Morin married to any Theriot in SAW or Raren Theriot Reader's entries. Karen has a Marie Morin too young to have children age 14+ in 1707 and also never married. One the right age but married to two different people, and then several that are way too old. Perhaps the 1707 entry was a mistake by the census taker? Too bad the children aren't named.

I'm curious about the Germain Terriot/Therriot family at Cobequid in the 1701, 1703, 1707 & 1714 censuses. The 1707 census names the wife as Marie Morin, yet none of the six Germain Theriot's in the WikiTree search show her as a wife. The two Terriot families in the 1714 census are at Port Royal (a wife and 2 daughter) and at Cobequid (a wife, 5 sons, 5 daughters). Do we know which of the Terriot families mentioned in 1714 match this Theriot-144? Perhaps this has all been discussed before, but I'm confused.
This family has had a lot of merges and duplication. Probably why the numerals are messed up. I have read somewhere that we shouldn't use numerals as suffixes unless it was part of their actual name. Good catch!

How can the son of Germain Theriot III be Germain Theriot II? Should these suffixes even be there?
According to Stephen White DGFA p 1845, Germain Terriot did not marry Marguerite Cormier in 1710. Therefore, this marriage is removed.
