Hi Raymond, Thanks for your message. I always like to hear from others working on our Acadian profiles!
I have merged the two profiles but to do that I had to adopt the profile you manage. It is best if you just approve the merge by clicking on the "Approve" button on the email you received. Only leaders can adopt other profiles so it's important to use the email to approve the merge. Make sense? Let me know if you need a further explanation.
Regarding the father of Etienne. In Etienne's biography are several paragraphs setting forth why Louis isn't his father. It is well-sourced. Apparently Louis's surname was Robicher, a different surname.
Hi, I am Dorothy, a WikiTree mentor!! Are you enjoying your time on WikiTree so far?
Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:
For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies
Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources
Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what you may be used to on other sites. But have no fear! We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:
If you are interested, WikiTree has a special DNA Project. Information on WikiTree's projects may be accessed from the FIND link, at the top right of most WikiTree pages; select PROJECTS from the drop down box.
Contact Kitty Smith if you would like additional details about the DNA project. You might also like to search for discussions tagged with DNA in our forum, G2G.
The initial email from us has helpful links that get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to Volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you choose to Volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Welcome to the Family, were really glad youre here.
Thanks for helping with Wikitree

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Have fun and ask for help if you need it. Most WikiTree members are eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.
If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
It may be helpful to change your tag from Ray to Thomas so you can follow your surname.

P.S. Here's my favorite WikiTree page about sources.
