Biography

Nancy was born about 1783 in South Carolina^[1][2] to Joseph Thompson and Mary Jolly.^{[3][4][5][6][7]}

She first married Isham Green^[3][8] and the couple had the following known children:

1. Mary "Polly" Green^[8]
2. Lemuel Green ^[8]
3. Nancy Green^[8]
4. Elizabeth "Betsy" Green^[8]
5. Rebecca Green^[8]

Isham died in 1808 in Anderson County, South Carolina^[8][6]

Nancy appears on the 1810 census of Pendleton County, South Carolina with the following household members:

She remarried 24 Dec 1812 in Pendleton County, South Carolina to Lodawick Orr.^[10]

Lodawick died 18 May 1826 in Pendleton County, South Carolina.^[10]

By 1840 she has relocated to Carroll County, Georgia where it appears likely that her mother was living in her household with her.^[11]

According to her pension packet, Nancy was living in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in 1851, in Carroll County, Georgia in 1855 and in Cleburne County, Alabama (Edwardsville P.O.) in 1874.^[10]

Nancy was living next door to Ransom Thompson on the 1870 census in Edwardsville, Cleburne County, Alabama.^[12][2]

Nancy died in Cleburne County, Alabama in March of 1880 of general debility.^[1] The mortality schedule of 1880 states she had been living in Cleburne County 50 years and that she and both her parents were born in South Carolina.^[1]
