Rudolphus Dolphus "Doc: Tidwell was born July 2, 1906 to William Tidwell and Ella Wright in Alabama.

He married Della Cordelia Brown on April 19, 1924 in Troup County, Georgia. Their children were:

1. Margie Nell Tidwell
2. Mary Frances Tidwell
3. Eddie Paul Tidwell ^[1]
4. Betty Joan Tidwell ^[2]
5. Rudolph Tidwell

He died, at the age of 80, on October 2, 1986 in Alabama. ^[3] He is buried at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Huguley, Chambers County, Alabama.^[4]
