Mary (Trotter) Coltrane was born in Scotland.

Mary (Trotter) Coltrane was a North Carolina colonist.

Daughter of James and Mary Beard Trotter. Mary Trotter was born between 1710 and 1713 in Drummoral, Wigtownshire, Scotland, daughter of James Trotter.

Emigrated to Edenton, North Carolina around 1738 and married David Coltrane just after arriving in Edenton.

William is the only known child of David & Mary Coltrane.

She married first David Coltrane.[1]

After David Coltrane was presumed dead in 1745, Mary would remarry three more times: Lawson Preddy m. 1745, John Messhenger m. 1752, Robert Wallace m. 1754.[2]

She married second, Laws Preddy on 27 Jun. 1745.[3][4]

She married third, John Messhenger on 20 Jan. 1752.[5]

She married fourth, Robert Wallace on 8 Aug. 1754.[6]

She died in 1792 in Edenton, Chowan, North Carolina. Her estate was probated in October 1792 at Chowan, North Carolina.[7]

Trotter-952 and Trotter-756 are not ready to be merged because: Our family history does not have more than one child for Mary Trotter & David Coltrane. There is another school of thought for these multiple children; however, i prefer to keep Mary Trotter separate from that line. We suspect there were two David Coltranes.
