The Marriage from Virginia that the profile has been based on Family Search Link is below. The source has this Sarah married to a Thomas but the marriage certificates are for John. The second source is from a legacy file
Christ Church Parish, Virginia Marriages, 1653-1812 [1]
Name: Jno Doss
Spouse: Sarah Herring
Marriage Date: 17 Jun 1735
Comment: (Banns)
Please Note Conflation: The marriage record above does not match the marriage date in her husband Thomas Doss's biography from Find-a-Grave. The marriage record above is for a different Sarah. This Sarah would also been in her late 40s at that date. The date 1714 of their marriage is in the biography below of husband Thomas Doss.
Find-a-Grave of Spouse - Bio of Thomas Doss Baptism date Jan 9 1686 Son of Jno and Ann Doss at ye lower Chapel. HE married Sarah Margaret Herring: born about 1685 - 1743. They married about 1714 per the records I have found On ancestory.com and familysearch.org they had 6 sons James Doss Sr. being my 7X Great-grandfather.
Find-a-Grave of Son - Bio of James DossSon of Thomas and Margaret Doss he married Frances Nix(1720-1776) abt 1740 in Amelia Co. Virginia she was a daughter of Edward Nix and Eunice Gibson. They had7 children James Doss Jr being my 5X Great grandfather. Married Ann Thurman and had 6 more children. Mother's name is Sarah Margaret Herring (1685-1743) No burial location has been found. A record of marriage is found for here and Thomas Doss. 17 Jun 1735, Christ Church, Lancaster, Virginia, USA. James Doss was born circa 1715 in Virginia to Thomas Doss Sr.. Bio by: Vivian Pattee
So in conclusion the marriage record is not for this Sarah Herring, also I see no reference to Brown connected to this Sarah's the surname should be removed unless/until a source shows up
This is a very tricky profile. Several with same names but dates are wrong for them to be valid sources. I tried checking a Find-a-Grave source for more information but was linked to a inaccessible page.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
I think I have gotten the profile ready for disconnection. The marriage record does not say Thomas it says John. Neither of the two sources under Research notes belong on this profile. Just of note these are widely viewed as the parents on the internet.
This profile needs a lot of work...while there was discussion over a year ago, no work has been done. Here are the issues as I see them.
1) Clearly she was not the widow that collected a pension in 1861.....she was long dead before that time.
2) She is NOT Margaret Brown
3) The family search profile indicates a marriage to Thomas Doss with NO primary sources, yet has numerous sources for a marriage to John Doss.
Thank you, Robin, it has been a long time since I looked at this profile. I will see what I can do with it. What makes this more interesting is Karen Collins the other PM and I share DNA. Chromosomes 7 - 7.9 and Chromosomes 15 - 8.3. on the "Relationship to me" app we are showing 16C2R. So something is out of Wack. I have some time constraints at the moment so it may be intermittent.
Brown-103608 and Herring-3513 appear to represent the same person because: same husband. same name. Herring is maiden name. Brown is alternate married name. please merge.
Thomas' wife was identified as Margaret only by two lawsuits according to Cathy Meder-Dempsey ("Opening Doors in Brick Walls," 19 Nov 2019, WorldConnect Project, (https://wc.rootsweb.com/trees/189102/I878/thomas-doss/individual). Neither the name Sarah nor the surnames Herring and Brown are associated with her in any records. The will Alexander Herring mentioned only his son Alexander Herring, wife Margaret, daughter Cady Herring, daughter Esther Wood, and daughter Sarah Prettyman. Sources are needed for this Margaret.
Interesting. The profiles still need merging, however, as they are clearly the same person, and show up as two wives for Thomas, when he only had 1 (I assume).
Given the info, I'd recommend taking 'Sarah' off of both profiles, since they both call her Sarah Margaret.
And since neither of these have sources for the last name, the last name could be changed to Unknown. and both possible names listed in a notes section.
However, I'm not the PM for either of these, so can only make suggestions ;- )
I've just created an unmatched merge for Sarah Margaret Herring and Margaret Unknown because I believe the two women to be the same person, however, research would be need to determine her proper name since neither have any sources at all.
I am updating the profile now.
