Robert Charles Anderson called her Elizabeth ______.[1].
The 1642 records for estate concerning John Bradley of Salem, including his nuncupative will,[2] provide testimony of "Ursly Greenoway" saying,[3]
"...John Bradley of Salem deceased being asked in the time of his sicknes what was his will, & perswaded to make a will, did aske why he should make a will, he had nobody to give his estate but his wife, only some of his cloths & tooles he gave to his brother in lawe william Allen"
While this could mean that William Allen had married a sister of John Bradley, that is only one of several ways the statement might be interpreted.[4]
Anderson also pointed out arguments suggesting Elizabeth _____ was Elizabeth Greenway, daughter of John Greenway.[5]
living as late as 26 Jun 1679 (when she presented inventory of husband's estate)[4]
may have been the widow Allen granted land at Manchester 2 Apr 1685[4]
may have been daughter of John Greenway of Dorchester[4][7]
NOT mother of William's first two children (Persis and Samuel)[4][7]
mother of 6 children: Elizabeth, Deborah, Bethiah, Onesiphorus, William, Jonathan.[7]
Several sources, including Torrey's New England Marriages[6][7] have suggested Bradley as her maiden name based on the will of John Bradley Jun 1642 (EPR 1:18, see also Disputed Origins) which calls William Allen brother-in-law, but this could have other meanings[4]

Robert Charles Anderson called her Elizabeth _____ and wrote that she "may have been daughter of John Greenway of Dorchester." Further discussion by Anderson in the article explaining that William was the "Brother in law of John Bradley of Salem" (see "EPR 1:18") and so some suspected William's wife was John Bradley's sister (citing "Essex Ant. 2:155"), but "this is only one of several possible explanations for the brother in law relationship."
Do you feel this has been adequately addressed in her profile?--Gene

Bradley-710 and Unknown-345940 appear to represent the same person because: Represent the same spouse of William Allen. Her maiden name is Unknown-- no proof for "Bradley". Thank you.
