Winnie died after 1830 in Alabama, United States aged >65.
Research Notes
Tagged Conjecture as it has never been proven that Winnie was an Ashcraft/Ashcroft. Reported online to be the daughter of John Hartwell Ashcraft and his wife, Mary Brown. No sources for this claim have been found. Drury Ashcroft Morton was named for a friend of Marshall's. There has never been any proof that Marshall married an Ashcroft. This is another internet myth. She has been removed as the daughter of John and Mary Ashcroft. Parents remain unknown.Morton-7125 18:37, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Ashcroft-1021 and Unknown-490035 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse. Merge to Winnie Unknown. Maiden name has never been documented. Known only as Winnie.
In all Bible records known her name is only ever spelled as "Winnie" or "Winnea". No dna tests have ever confirmed her to be an Ashcraft. This supposition materialized in the 1970s by some researchers in Texas and Oklahoma who did not know that Drury Ashcraft Morton, son of Winnie and Marshall, was named after a man Marshall Morton had hunted with and was said to have died in Kentucky while on a fur trapping expedition before 1800. That info from Thomas Sidney Ashcraft of Fayette County, Alabama in the 1950's. He also confirmed Mortons of Fayette County, Alabama were not related to Morton's of Blount County. I further confirmed this through a pile of family records given to me by Guy Morton of Fayette County, Alabama in 1985.
